Editing

Je n'ai fait celle-ci plus longue que parce que je n'ai pas eu le loisir de la faire plus courte.
(I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.)

– Blaise Pascal

Writing concise, engaging text can be a challenge. As an editor, Adrienne helps pare away excess and confusing text, bringing clarity to the prose. She is also skilled at finding ways to communicate difficult ideas and concepts to the “lay reader.” Her work as a developmental editor also helps bring structure to pieces. Adrienne helped launch the children's science magazine, KNOW, and served as managing editor for six years. Currently she is managing editor of Hakai, an on-line magazine that focuses on science and society in coastal ecosystems.
